Sew a faux merrow edge

A gathered, merrow-style border that finishes the edge of a patch.

Faux Merrow is a Pro run type, and it is a good way to finish the edge of a patch. The path is offset into a column. Each repeat spreads stitches across one side and gathers them on the other, then finishes with a short binding stitch.

Density sets how far apart the fan stitches land. Fan spacing is the length of one fan along the path. Fan spread is how much of each fan the gathered roots occupy. Binding depth is how far the locking stitch reaches in from the gathered side. Flip fan side gathers on the other side of the column.
